Nancy Prestipino
The Loudoun Arts Council has selected Nancy Prestipino as the November featured artist of the month. Mrs. Prestipino is a pianist, composer and singer. She has been well-known as an accomplished contributor to the local music scene since she moved to Loudoun county in 1994.
This Renaissance woman works in all phases of music -- from performing at weddings and parties, to accompanying ballet classes and theater productions, to being the Music Director at St. Matthews Episcopal church in Sterling, to writing music and teaching piano in her private "blue" studio. She recently worked with Merideth McMath playing underscore music for live radio broadcast shows at the Tally Ho Theater and singing Andrews Sisters style music with the Swinging Smithly Sisters there. Her newly-released CD, "Words on the Wind," features her own compositions in her signature style of clear vocals paired with lush piano accompaniment. "I draw on all the experiences of my life -- the highs and the lows and all the roles I play for the inspiration for the songs."
