Featured Artist ArchiveDasher Chagnaa
The Loudoun Arts Council has selected Dasher Chagnaa as the featured artist for December 2003. Dasher moved from Mongolia to the United States 4 years ago and became an artist to capture the beauty of his homeland. Originally inspired by his grandfather, Dasher's watercolor and oil paintings show a delicate attention to detail and fine brush control. With an exceptionally keen eye and a mind that is continually composing pictures, Dasher paints from what he sees. A favorite painting is Dasher's interpretation of Leesburg's monthly Gallery Walk where people are seen painting in the street.
Dasher got his first start as an artist in the U.S. at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, has won numerous awards and became a member of the Art League of Alexandria. Currrently, he is represented by Gallery 222 and a member of King Street Studios. Dasher's solo exhibition, In My Dreams ran through October at Gallery 222, located at 222 South King Street in Leesburg. For more information about Dasher, contact Gallery 222 at (703) 777-5498.
