Featured Artist ArchiveDan H. Williams Dan H. Williams is the featured artist for January 2004. Dan believes his art is inspired by a sense of wonderment about our world, shaped in youth on a farmstead in northwestern Pennsylvania. There his natural creativity could flourish, first encouraged by his mother (she put paint and paper in his hands at age 4 - that painting hangs in his studio today). The artist moved to Virginia twenty years ago and has called Leesburg home since 1991.
People and places are a common theme in Dan's work. He enjoys using watercolor to capture the interaction between man and his environment, often focusing on forms seasoned by man's activity, the weather and time. Portraiture in pastel is also his specialty. Dan is a founding member of King Street Studios, a working artists group in Leesburg. "Immerse yourself in the people and places around you take nothing and no one for granted. Take positive action. Art is my voice for expressing this wonderment." Contact Dan at 703-771-4977.
