Loudoun Reads

This annual event, hosted by the Loudoun Literacy Council, is a one-hour program consisting of authors, educators and community leaders, from Loudoun County, who will be reading short selections from their favorite books or poems. The purpose of this free public event is to raise awareness of the literacy needs in our community as well as to recognize the accomplishments of our volunteers and students. The event takes place in the Rose Garden, located behind the Loudoun Museum, next to the municipal parking lot. The public is invited to a wine and cheese reception to meet the artist and view works at Prudential Carruthers' office (4 E Colonial Hwy) in Hamilton.
Dana likes to represent organic and inorganic objects next to one another in dramatic compositions. "Vintage next to vegetation" Things that have relationships, in ways most don't think of, with a little twist. She shoots for compositions that are larger than life, tightly cropped or taken to the edge. Dana's ultimate goal is for the viewer to say "whoa!"
