  • Entering is easy. Just click on the link above, then click on the *submit photos here* tab. We'll accept entries until the end of this month-July 31. Then we will ask all visitors to VirginiaLiving.com, and specifically the Best Smile Contest, to vote for their favorite grins. Votes will be accepted through August 31. The smile that receives the most votes will earn a $250 teeth-whitening gift certificate for the person who submitted the photo.

  • Teen Literary Jam Starts July 18 at the Round Hill Arts Center!
  • Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month starting July 18th, young writers ages 13 -19 are welcome to bring your poems, your short stories, your novel excerpts. Bring a piece that inspires you (less than 5 minutes long). Donations are welcome. This event is co-sponsored by the Young Voices Foundation.

  • Calling all creative people! The 23rd annual SterlingFest 2010 would love to provide a venue for you to showcase your talents and wares. October is a wonderful time of year for a festival booth. Consider becoming a sponsor or vendor. This large-scale one-day community event located at Commerce and Enterprise Streets in Sterling Park attracts about 10,000 visitors each year.
  • Applications/Registrations accepted through September 3, 2010, but booth spaces assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • This is an indoor/outdoor event and will be held rain or shine. Event date is October 9, 2010, 11am- 5pm. Rain date October 10, 2010.

  • Washington Project for the Arts is pleased to present the sixth Experimental Media Series, a screening series of innovative video and sound works. The Experimental Media Series was created to showcase the new media work of exceptional and under-recognized talent and provide a venue for experimental media in the Washington, DC area. All video and sound artists are invited to submit one recent work that is no longer than 5 minutes, exploring any subject matter of their choice.

  • CALL FOR ART - 9th Annual ‘Something Hot’ Juried Show at ArtSquare
  • Artists living within a 75-mile radius of Leesburg are invited to submit artwork to the ninth annual "Something Hot" juried exhibition hosted by the galleries at ArtSquare, formerly known as Gallery 222. The exhibit will be juried that afternoon by artist/professor Anthony Barham who will provide a critique at 7PM. Barham was born in London and grew up painting, restoring and gilding in the family antique business in Portobello Road. In 1994 he moved to Middleburg, Virginia, married artist Misa Broadhead and together they formed the Broadhead-Barham studio where they create murals, portraits, sculpture and representation art.
  • Artists may submit two pieces of original work which will be accepted at the galleries on Saturday, August 7, from 10AM to 1PM. There is a $25 entry fee.
  • Work selected by Barham will be displayed in the galleries at ArtSquare between August 13 - 27, and an artists’ reception will be held on Friday, August 13th.

  • ArtsCapade II
  • The Second Annual ArtsCapade - an eclectic fine arts escape will feature juried artists from near and far in all mediums including photography, painting, sculpture, jewelry, fiber art, computer art and "the unusual." There will be interactive children's activities, live music, international foods and a wine and beer garden. The application fee is $35. and there are various arrangements for space rental starting at $395. for a 10x10 space. Also, tents are available for a fee for artists who require one.
