Arts in Offices

The Loudoun Arts Council embraces the idea that the spaces where people gather to do business or to socialize are energized by the artwork of those spaces. The Arts in Offices program creates the opportunity for local artists to showcase their creations in the conference rooms, lobbies, waiting areas and other open spaces with the professional spaces of LAC business members.

Each quarter, art that has been accepted into the program rotates through "satellite galleries" in participating businesses, providing artists with new audiences for their paintings, graphic art, photography or sculpture. Businesses in the program have a new exhibit of original art by local talent for their clients to enjoy.

The Arts in Offices program partners local artists with area businesses, giving visual artists the opportunity to show and sell their work. As program sponsor, LAC brings artists and businesses together, coordinating exhibits and handling publicity. Artists hang and remove their work. To ensure damage-free installations, the artists use approved hanging systems (such as picture molding) provided by each business. Insurance for their work is the responsibility of artists who desire it.

Biographical information about the artist and the work on display is available at each location. Proceeds from any sale go entirely to the artist, and inquiries from prospective buyers are directed to the artist, who handles all aspects of sales.

Arts in Offices is currently coordinated by LAC board member Zofia Lategano. She handles scheduling the rotation of artwork with participating artists as well as coordinates with the LAC business member participants.
