LOUDOUN COUNTY DESIGN CABINET MEMBER MILTON HERD TO SPEAK AT LOUDOUN ARTS COUNCIL ANNUAL MEETING, OCT. 19

WHAT:
The Loudoun Arts Council will hold its annual general membership meeting at Lightfoot Restaurant in Leesburg. This year's guest speaker is Milton Herd president of Herd Planning & Design. A member of the Loudoun County Design Cabinet, Herd will speak on the role of the arts in helping planners, policy makers and builders create a sense of community. Herd will also discuss the Design Cabinet's "Signatures of Loudoun" award program.

Thursday, October 19, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m.

WHERE:
Lightfoot Restaurant, 11 North King St., Leesburg

BACKGROUND:
The "Signatures of Loudoun" Design Excellence Program aims to recognize the buildings, interiors, places and details that together make Loudoun County unlike any other. Sponsored by the Loudoun County Design Cabinet, the program strives to identify outstanding projects and designs throughout the county.

The Loudoun County Design Cabinet is a volunteer group of architects, designers and interested community members. To complement Loudoun's natural beauty, and to reinforce its sense of place, identity and community, the Cabinet aims to encourage the highest quality physical design including urban, architectural, landscape and ecological design.
