If you believe in the arts and would like to work with an inspired group who share your interest, please consider becoming a member of the LAC Board. One of the 2026 priorities for Loudoun Arts Council is to build our Board of Directors. Important skill sets for the next phase of our development include philanthropic support, persuasion, marketing and publicity, negotiation, events planning, financial management, and non-profit governance. If you have one or more of these skills, your expertise would be very helpful to achieve the goal of having a strong Arts Council for our community.

The pathway to Board service is clear. It begins with showing that you are an arts enthusiast -- by being a member of the Loudoun Arts Council. Next, meet with other directors in-person at events such as the “Open House” at our office in Leesburg planned for the First Friday event November 7th. There, you learn more about the Council’s goals, ask questions, and better understand where your skills fit best.

During the fourth quarter, we will review indications of interest sent by LAC members, along with considering the current list of members and exploring interest in serving from those who would add desired skill sets, diversity, and geographic reach to the board. Nominees will be asked to submit biographical information to prepare the candidate ballot that will be voted on during the early 2026 Annual Meeting, where board members will be elected and begin a two-year term.

For those who are not yet members, Seize the Day! Join now, and become a part of this forward-looking community organization.
