Loudoun Arts Advance Newsletter
Dates, times, and venues for arts performances, events, and classes, as well as general information about the arts across the county are collected and organized into a single publication which is mailed quarterly to members of the Loudoun Arts Council.

Arts in Offices
Local painters, photographers, and sculptors are partnered with area businesses to bring the arts into Loudoun offices. The program enables artists to show - and sell - their work in conference rooms, waiting rooms, and other open areas. Exhibits rotate; every two months patients, clients, and customers view a different show and artists enjoy a new audience. There is no fee to participate for member artists or businesses. The Loudoun Arts Council handles all aspects of site selection and exhibit coordination.

Contributions from foundations, corporations and individuals are obtained for restricted use in this regranting program that distributes funds to local not-for-profit arts groups. Each year, the Loudoun Arts Council awards grants to member organizations that have demonstrated artistic excellence and effective management. Awards are presented during performances and openings so that audiences can share in the celebrations.

Loudoun Arts Directory
A catalog, published every two years, lists information about artists, performers, teachers, venues, and related services for Loudoun County residents. This resource is available to the general public.

Excellence in the Arts Awards
An arts competition held annually for juniors and seniors in Loudoun County public and private schools. Professional panels jury the work of students in the areas of literary, visual, and performing arts. Cash prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place winners in each category. A recital and exhibition precedes the reception hosted by the Loudoun Arts Council.

Featured Artist Program
The Loudoun Arts Council shines the media spotlight on local artists through its Featured Artist Program. Featured artists are profiled on the LAC website as well as in area newspapers and magazines. An archive is maintained on the website, and visitors are invited to nominate artists online.

Leesburg's First Friday
Held the first Friday of every month (except January) from 6-9PM, visitors browse through art galleries and specialty shops in downtown historic Leesburg. Many of the stops along the way offer wine and cheese and other refreshments. Finish the evening with a delicious meal and a glass of wine from a local vineyard at one of our notable restaurants. In partnership with the Town of Leesburg, First Friday is sponsored by Times Community Newspapers. The Loudoun Arts Council administers all aspects of this program.
